| - Language/Unicode Characters - |
Crimson offers support for thousands of characters used in formats like Cyrillic or Thai.
Adjusting the panel's operator language to meet your preference is literally a touch of a button away, allowing OEMs to use a single database when targeting multiple geographic markets.
Now you can build your panel, and at time of shipment, customize the display to the language needed for your customer.

| - Communications Gateway- |
 |
What good is having the ability to speak nine different protocols simultaneously if all you can do is display the data being gathered?
With the G3’s powerful gateway facility, you have the ability to exchange data between any and all connected devices. With a few clicks of the mouse, you can map a setpoint from a PLC to a variable speed drive, or provide a PLC program with information as to the status of a PID controller.
You can also use the G3’s Ethernet port to expose any data within the connected devices for access by a remote SCADA package—thereby Ethernet enabling even the simplest device without the need for expensive communications drivers for your SCADA package. |
|
Red Lion data management products, which already offer advanced communication, now also connect to DeviceNet networks. With the release of the G3DN and XCDN cards, users can quickly add DeviceNet slave connectivity to any of the G3 operator interfaces, Modular Controller Masters or Data Station Plus series.
The card is simply added to the expansion slot during installation. With the powerful protocol conversion facility embedded in all units, combined with the standard offering of three serial ports and a multiple-protocol Ethernet port, users can now realize complete system integration and data transfer. |
| - CompactFlash Interface - |
 |
Not only does the CF interface provide expandable storage for data and event logging, it also provides a means to update the panel’s database without a PC. The firmware used to develop the database image is also stored, meaning you won’t ever have to worry about version conflicts. |
| - Email/SMS Alarm Notifications - |
 |
With the G3’s powerful alarm functions, you can notify the appropriate personnel of impending problems before they occur.
You can choose to email alarm messages, or use the G3’s SMS messaging function to text message one or several people simultaneously. With the built-in SMS relay facility, any response given to the original text message is relayed automatically to everyone on the distribution list. This allows a team of responders to know who has taken ownership of a given situation. |
 |
Cut support costs by updating your equipment from your home office. The G3’s standard Ethernet port allows you to update its database remotely. By enabling serial port sharing, you can also use the connection to download to any connected PLC or drive.

| - Extensive Symbol Library - |
 |
With over 4000 push buttons, tanks, motors and machinery—plus over 60 other categories!
Now with just a click of your mouse, you can add professional quality graphics to your G3
display pages. |
| - FLASH Database Storage - |
 |
Using on-board flash, the G3 doesn’t rely on a battery to maintain its database.
No longer will your machine go down for a $2.00 item. |
 |
Gone are the days when you had to use PC based SCADA software to monitor your process. The G3’s built-in data logger allows you to monitor tags at an adjustable rate, and automatically time/date stamp them. The information is stored in simple CSV files, allowing you open them with any spreadsheet application, such as Microsoft Excel. |
 |
Interested in the sequence that occurred right before a machine failure? The G3’s event logger allows you to track changes to its data tags, providing critical information for troubleshooting. |
| - Multiple Serial Ports - |
 |
With three serial ports standard, (up to five with optional expansion card), and an Ethernet port capable of running four protocols, the G3 is the most powerful communications platform available today. Feel free to pick the best-in-class PLC, drive, temperature controllers, etc. for your next machine. The Red Lion G3 will make sure they communicate seamlessly to one another.

 |
While we do our best to create the most powerful interface on the market, we can’t always keep up with our customers’ imaginations. We’ve thus included a powerful programming system to allow you to implement any additional functionality that your application may need. The C-like programming language features blistering performance, advanced math capability, and provides direct access to many of the G3's unique features, like the CompactFlash card and the multiple serial ports. You can even create TCP/IP connections to extract data from websites! |
 |
The USB programming port allows you to download even the largest databases at blistering speeds. And with the decline of serially equipped PCs, particularly laptops, you won’t be forced to keep that old laptop around.

| After creating the various pages for your HMI application, the last thing you want to do is to duplicate your efforts in a SCADA package, or to install proprietary software on your PC. With the G3 series, your work is already done. Any page you’ve created can be remotely accessed using any standard web-browser, just by enabling the server. |
 |
| Using your mouse, you can take control of equipment, as if you were touching the HMI. For added flexibility, the G3 can be also be configured to serve custom HTML pages created in your favorite HTML editor. |
